Busy Week

Sorry for the lack of posts this week. My husbands brother's company closed its doors a while ago but they kept him on to continue working until January of 2010 but they gave him permission to move to Idaho and still do the work so my brother and sister in law found a house in Idaho and then had a week to pack up all of their things and get moved. They have been more than just family to us, but have been amazing friends to us and our kids have grown up together so I tried to give as much help as possible to them this week by watching their kids and then helping them load up the moving truck and clean their house. It was a busy and hard week. They have seen my husband and I through all of our trials and helped me to change and grow into who I am now. We are going to miss them like crazy.

With that being said I didn't have a chance to do much shopping last week, but I now have my list ready and my coupons clipped for Albertsons and I will have pictures and a shopping breakdown ready for you tomorrow afternoon!

Raspberry Syrup . . . SOOOO YUMMY!!

For those of you who checked out the Albertson's Ad this week I am sure you saw that they have raspberries on sale for .99! Well I never buy raspberries, but I decided this week since they were so cheap I would. I ended up buying two and then not having the slightest idea of what to do with them. This morning we were having waffles so I decided to run a google search and make Raspberry Syrup. I found this recipe and made it and it turned out sooooo good! Here is the recipe. You can also check out here to get this recipe and more syrup recipes!

Raspberry Syrup
2 cups fresh or frozen raspberries
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 cup light corn syrup

Puree raspberries in food processor or blender and strain to remove seeds. Measure and add enough water to equal 1 cup.

Combine puree/juice with all other ingredients and bring to a rolling boil. Boil for exactly one minute, counting the time after the mixture comes to a rolling boil that cannot be stirred down. Skim foam. Store in refrigerator.

I hope you enjoy this delicious recipe as much as my family and I did!
